History of our School
The Catholic Empancipation was brought in in 1829 by MP for Clare, Daniel O'Connell. In 1830 the National School Act was brought in.
Clonmoney N.S was built in 1840. It was a two storey building, the boys upstairs and the girls downstairs. The school was heated by two fireplaces, one on each floor. The last principal was Harry Carroll who built the house we now live in in 1935 for £350.
The school had a new floor fitted in 1901 - 1902, and also got a new floor boards. In 1980 - 1981 Tom and Fiona Fitzgerald converted the building into a home.
The school was know to have been used in 1869 while the current school got a third room.
