We extend an extra warm welcome to all our new junior infants and on behalf of all the staff, we sincerely hope they will all will achieve their full academic, social and human potential in an atmosphere of trust, good humour and enjoyment. We also welcome our new member of staff, Mr. Stephen Littleton (4th/5th teacher), who was appointed when Mrs O’Connell retired in June. Below are some updates and arrangements for you to note:
Opening/ Closing times & Parking
- Clonmoney School begins each morning when the bell rings at 8:50 am. Children should enter the school grounds using the pedestrian path near the church. All pupils can access their classrooms through the back entrances as the front door has a magnified lock for security. Please press the ring button if you wish to enter.
- In the interest of the safety of all, we request that the staff car park is kept clear and should not be used as a set-down zone. All school traffic should proceed to the church area to turn and drop off.
- All the children walk to their class’ lines in the big yard where they will be collected by their teacher at bell time.
- One teacher will supervise the yard for a period of 10 minutes (08:40 – 08:50) each morning and we recommend that your child(ren) arrive during these times. Each morning, all pupils should leave their bags in their respective classrooms when they arrive and then proceed to their designated area in the yard, juniors to 1st in the small yard, with 2nd-6th in the big yard. Children must wear a helmet to use the new Astro Turf & Hurling Wall before school or at break times.
- Please also note, that there will be a half day for a staff meeting on Monday 11th September. School will finish at 12:30pm for all pupils on this day.
- The new Juniors Infants will finish each day for approximately the next two weeks at 12:00pm. The Junior/Senior Infants will be lined up inside the corridor of this door each day and will only be allowed to leave when the teacher can see the parent/ minder of the child at the door. Once the new Juniors’ have settled in, Ms Cullinan will inform parents through a note when their full day until 13:30 will commence.
- Senior Infants will finish at 13:30 from Wednesday 30th August.
- All other pupils will finish at 14:30 from Wednesday 30th August.
- Mrs Enright is in the office Monday to Friday from 08:45 to 13:30 and will be available at these times if you wish to make a payment for Book Rental and/or Art/Craft/Sundries.
- Mrs Enright will issue you with a receipt for any expenses paid. We thank you most sincerely for paying for these requisites at your earliest convenience.
- If you have any other queries or would like to discuss any concerns that you would like to discuss with your child’s teacher, you can make an appointment through the office.
Le gach dea-ghuí,
